Thank You

  THANK YOU!! Thank you Grand Cove Residents.  Your generosity knows no bounds.  The donations that have been dropped off are overwhelming.  Your donations will give many families the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Christmas. I can’t thank the following people enough for their assistance in making Christmas Sharing a great event for those that attended. Terry Shale for taking on the role of Santa Ed Cassaday for providing us with Christmas music. Sheila, Betty, Gail, Debbie, Denise and Wilma thank you for all your help in plating the baked goods, decorating the tables and preparing the beverages.  I good not have done this event without your help. Donations will still be accepted until December 6 th .  Feminine products, toys, games and children’s clothing (pj’s, diapers, bibs, etc. are still needed). We will be selling off the baked goods that were donated today from 1 – 3 p.m. for $5.00 a plate until they are gone.  The monies collected will be donated to the food bank. My sincere

Christmas Sharing

 CHRISTMAS SHARING UPDATE In my previous notice regarding Christmas Sharing I neglected to inform everyone about the time for the Come and Go reception at the hall. The Come and Go reception will take place on November 27 th from 2 to 4 p.m. So please come out and enjoy some baked goods and refreshments. Donations are now being accepted at the hall for the South Huron Angel Project. Please place your donations in the empty boxes located under the gold and blue decorated trees. Donations will be accepted until December 6 th . Please place your donations of scarves, mitts, gloves, etc. in the boxes as well. Donations of toys, games, movies, etc. are needed for children from the ages of 3 months to 18 years. Gift cards for the Independent and Foodland in Exeter will also be greatly appreciated. Helping Handbags

 November is Women Abuse Prevention Month. We are collecting gently used handbags and female toiletries for women in need. Donations will be delivered to Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia and Huron Women’s Shelter. Drop off at the church Friday, November 26 th from 4-7 and pm or call Dawna at 519-238-5155 to make other arrangements. or drop off at 42 St Andrews to make other arrangements. Christmas Outdoor Decorating

 CHRISTMAS OUTDOOR DECORATING CONTEST Once again this year Capreit and the HOA will be sponsoring a Christmas Outdoor Decorating contest. There will be 3 themes up for a prize. Themes this year will be: Best Lighting, Best Natural Decor and Best Decorative Christmas planter. Judging will take place on December 10 th at 5:00 p.m. We are looking forward to seeing all your creative ideas and decorations.

  Priority List 2 Items on 2021 Priority list Promised but not completed. Benches and Picnic Tables  told they were on Order 2021 2nd Bocce Ball Court (Promised in 2022) Pavilion in Large Green Space (Promised in 2022) Checking into improved lighting on Pebble Beach  (2021 Budget) New Items 2022  Repair Shuffleboard court and area around Shuffleboard. Resurface Pickleball / Tennis Courts and mark out Tennis court and 4 pickleball courts Repair storage space used by Timeless Treasures (Outdoor Shed by Pool) Locate new space for storing decorations,etc or fix walls in the current room. Proper "doggie poop" disposal containers similar to ones used in public areas and dog parks Control speeding and paint the centre line on the road. (Slow down signs) Pave path to dog park area. Remove sidewalks completely, pave this space, marking designed area for walking with yellow line (This a safety concern for our residents as we have had several residents fall in 2020-2021)  -- David Feens

Santa Needed

  HELP!   HELP! HELP! I am sorry to announce that Grand Cove’s Santa after many years has decided to hang up his toy and treat bag to opt for retirement!   We wish Santa all the best in his retirement but we need someone to fill his boots! Everyone enjoyed Santa’s dropping in at the Cove’s Christmas Sharing Event and it is hoped that we can look forward to another Santa dropping in again. A new Santa is needed so if you would like to volunteer to take on that role for one day or know of someone who would, please contact me at 519-238-2968 or via email: 2021socialdirector@gmail.com . DIY Christmas workshop

  DIY CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP   A CHRISTMAS centerpiece workshop is planned for December 4 th at 1:00 p.m. in the Club house.   The fee for this work shop will be $20.00 which will include all the necessary materials.   If interested in attending this workshop and creating something for your Christmas table or as gift, please register with the Social Director at 519-238-2968 or by email: 2021socialdirector@gmail.com . Christmas Decorating
